Egg Nog French Toast with Pear-Cranberry Compote
Ingredients:
Egg Nog French Toast
- 6 slices Thick Challah or Brioche Bread
- 2 large Eggs
- ½ tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1 pinch Kosher Salt
- ¾ cup Prairie Farms Egg Nog
Pear-Cranberry Compote
- 1 Bartlett Pear peeled and diced
- ½ cup Cranberries
- 2 Oranges zested and juiced
- 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar
Optional Toppings
- Powdered Sugar
- Whipped Cream
Directions:
Eggnog French Toast Preparation
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt
- Whisk in the Prairie Farms Egg Nog until well-mixed
- Soak both sides of each slice of bread in the eggnog mixture
- Warm a large skillet over medium heat. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in the hot pan
- Cook each slice of bread until browned on each side
- Arrange on a plate, top with Pear-Cranberry Compote, whipped cream and powdered sugar if using
Pear-Cranberry Compote Preparation
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the pears, cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and sugar
- Simmer until fruit is softened, about 10-15 minutes
